I drink Raw Milk

I lived on a dairy farm from age 6-14. I drank milk straight from the tank during that time. When I was 14 we sold the farm and moved and Mom started to buy milk from the grocer. I hated milk from the store because it tasted like plastic and left me with terrible stomach cramps. I stopped drinking milk when I was 18 because I believed that I was lactose intolerant.

And then in 2010 my sister bought a cow share from Grassfields Farms. We both did research on the nature of milk and why raw milk is better for ones health than pasteurized milk. I drank this raw milk a few times and never got sick! For Christmas 2010 I asked for my own cow share.

Every Saturday Debra & I get our share of milk from our cows. This past Saturday it was my turn to get the milk (usually our Dad graciously gets the milk for us! Thanks Dad!) and I took my camera along!

The farm is located in Coopersville, MI.

I think one of these is my cow.
There is even a store at the farm! Cheese, meat, eggs, and other local goodies are for sale!

In the milk house, pouring the liquid gold.

This is my share - I get 1.5 gallons a week. Debra gets 3 gallons a week.
Milk tank.

With my milk I make butter and yogurt. Sometimes I even drink it!
