As one veggie ends, another one begins

I had a lot of work to do today and getting to the garden was #1 on my list. I knew I couldn't stay long and I tried to work fast. The kicker is that I am so easily enchanted when I get there that I 'waste' time just puttering around.

I've created my own Enchanted Garden.

For the past few weeks I have harvested countless squash, zucchini, yellow beans, and cucumbers. Today I noticed that those four veggies have reached their peak and are making way for August veggies. I discovered peppers, an eggplant, acorn squash, and lots of corn. I love how all things have a season, even in a summer garden.

Pictured here is mint. I grew mint this year in an effort to attract bees to my garden, and it worked! But this serves a dual purpose as well. Soon I will harvest some leaves, dry them, and store them for winter tea. Oh yum!
Two cantaloupe just hanging around. There are 8 cantaloupe this size and about 8 more itty bitty ones ready to grow. I can't wait to pair the freshly picked fruit with my homemade yogurt.

Acorn squash!

Eggplant!

Green peppers!

Just a smidge of chaos.

A better view of how I am growing my vertical cantaloupe.

And my vertical cucumbers.

Today's harvest.

What a bountiful harvest. I am inspired. Going to try to grow cherry tomatoes and beans in our tiny little space of garden.
